The Project Guidance service is for telcos who are about to embark on a major network migration or upgrade – typically you’ll have agreed to purchase some new equipment from Metaswitch and you need to integrate these new products into your network.
Over the years we have been involved in many dozens of switch migration and network upgrade projects, but for most of you, this is a rare occurrence. A big change like this can leave you feeling nervous and a little short on confidence about the best approach.
The Project Guidance service allows you to take advantage of all our experience, so you can be confident that you’re approaching your migration in the right way and that you’re engaging with Metaswitch as effectively as possible.
What’s involved?
One of our consultants will join your weekly project status calls (typically run by Metaswitch) and will be able to provide expert insight and advice at each stage of the project.
Based on our experiences we’ll be able to help with all the decisions you need to make, give guidance about the risks and rewards of certain courses of action, and highlight the critical paths in any timeline.
This is a pretty lightweight engagement – we’re not managing the project for you (typically Metaswitch will provide a project manager) – but you have an experienced engineer on your team, who knows the process, knows the risks and knows how Metaswitch works. Therefore you can proceed with confidence every step of the way.
What does it cost?
The service costs $6K for each 3 month period, and you should plan on a typical project lasting about 9 months, for a total fee of $18K depending on the project duration.
If you pay for 9 months up-front, we can offer a discounted price of $17K for the first 9 months of the project. If the project lasts longer than 9 months you can purchase additional time in 3-month blocks.
